Dave hunt Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 I am renovating a 1968 triumph 1300 FWD .Carburettor keeps losing petrol therefore a new float assembly needed and needle seating as decribed on the Haynes manual. can anyone help as having lots of difficulty getting these parts .tried Rimmer Bros Quote
yorkshire_spam Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 https://burlen.co.uk/ Assuming it's a single SU - Burlen every time. I'd only use Rimmers as a last resort if all the other suppliers/clubs can't help. Quote
Wendy Dawes Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 (edited) Don’t know where you are but there are a couple of carburettor refurbishers I can recommend, Alan Fielding at carb care in Lichfield Staffordshire 01543 305160. Or Andrew Turner at Turner Carbs in Colsterworth, Lincolnshire 01476 660555 hope this may help Edited July 25, 2023 by Wendy Dawes Quote
RayW Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 Agree with Wendy, Alan at Carb Care is about as good as it gets. Did a great job on my Twin HS4’s Quote
cook1e Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 Burlen are the main UK spares distributor for SU and Stromberg Carbs (& Amal Motorcycle carbs too), much better stock than Rimmers and most of the other Triumph specialists, plus of course you'll nearly always pay extra at Rimmers. Also they are the real experts if you need advice and always helpful. https://burlen.co.uk/ Quote
Steve AKA vitessesteve Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 Burlen also do reconditioning. I had a pair of Strombergs done for my Vitesse. Excellent refurbished bodies properly cleaned. They bushed the spindles to stop an air leak. Quote
Don Cook Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 Burlen now sell SU floats that are adjustable, comes with a note explaining how to set! Quote
