JLR
Forgive another post from a 13/60 newby. I've never driven anything but manual tramission cars, so know they can vary, but the clutch on my 1970 13/60 seems particularly fierce. That is, it grabs at engagement without any chance of making a smooth change. I wonder whether that is simply characteristic, whether I shall have to adjust my technique, or whether it signals the clutch is on its way out. With thanks as always. Nick Jones
Not really a characteristic. Possibly a little more direct than a modern, but should be perfectly possible to drive smoothly. Quite a few possible causes including broken gearbox or engine mounts (usually some sort noise/thump to give the game away).
glang
Our clutches being hydraulic are usually pretty good - its one of the better Triumph components! Whats yours like on a hill start? You should be able to control engagement pretty well. If not maintenance of the pedal, linkage and hydraulics would be a good start....
