Tony Lyons
Hi every one, My name is Tony Lyons and I reide in The Republic of Ireland. This is my first posting on this forum. I have just restored an irish Reg. 1969 Triumph Herald 1200 Having cleaned out the fuel tank, Iwas wondering if the fuel line should be fitted with a fuel vent filter, and if so, where is the best place to put it. it does not have any fuel filter at the moment and also ther does not seem enough space even to fit an on-line filter. Any thoughts on this request would be most welcome.
Rosbif
I've a 13/60 and put one just before the petrol pump
Martins Stag
I think before the petrol pump to so stop any rubbish getting into the petrol pump and clogging it up. It is easier to change the filter rather than clean out the fuel pump. Also there was a warning that some of the cheap Chinese ones on Ebay tended to dissolve with E10 so try and get one from reputable supplier? Tony Lyons
Many thanks to all for your replies. I will take your advice on board. Just wondering if anyone has used the 'vent' type filter ? Saw one advertised on the Rimmer Bros. site, Kindest regards, Tony Lyons
shenderson
Not sure what is meant by a 'vent' type filter. Could be a filter in the fuel tank vent (breather) pipe, which allows air into the tank tank is the fuel level drops?
