cook1e Posted October 17, 2023 Share Posted October 17, 2023 I'm having trouble reinstalling the gearbox remote extension on the top of my GT6 3 rail gearbox. I can't seem to get the selector lever in pace properly if I fit it I can't get it out of gear, I thought it was in neutral when I too it off! Can anyone identify what gear the car is in from the position of the selectors from above in the picture below. If I can put the remote in the right gear before reattaching then I'm hoping that'll sort it. I thought it would be 4th gear but that doesn't work. cook1e Posted October 17, 2023 Author Share Posted October 17, 2023 All sorted now, I needed to pull the left hand selector back to be level with the others which was then neutral and it all went back together fine. GT64fun Posted October 18, 2023 Share Posted October 18, 2023 (edited) Andy I think the WSM says to put it in first gear to remove and refit the remote, but it looks as though you proved it can be done in neutral. With the selectors you have to think mirror image, so the centre one is 1st/2nd (back for first gear) and the left one is 3rd/4th. Don't you just love playing with Triumph gearboxes?
