steve_1360
HiI've got to change the rear propshaft UJ on my 13/60. I was wondering if i could just unbolt the drive flange and the spring plate? (not sure what its called but its a couple of square pieces of metal bolted together with no centre), so i only had a small bit to work on. Do you think this is a good idea or will i cause myself more issues by distrubing this spring plate?CheersSteve
heraldcoupe
Hi Steve,I would not be inclined to dismantle the strap drive which you are referring to. This part gives enough problems in it's own right with wear and breakage of the straps, I would leave this alone if it is currently intact and in balance. Take off the propshaft the conventional way and use the opportunity to check both UJs and the straps while it's all accessible. If you find any strap problems, I would advise finding an earlier solid propshaft and rebuilding that instead,Cheers,Bill.
