Spin Posted June 2, 2008 Share Posted June 2, 2008 Hi, I have a 1977 Stag automatic with cold start problems. I noticed the choke does not pull out very far and the idle adjust screw appears to bind in the choke cam. After looking at it more closely it I saw that there was lateral movement (wear) in the starter assembly which I think is creating excessive friction on the choke cable and stopping it from pulling out. My question is where can I get a new or even good secondhand starter assembly? People are tellin me they are no longer available so if that is true what are others doing to overcome the problem?
