mikeyb
Can any post me a pic (or link to a pic) of the mods done to strengthen these extensions? As mine is off the car, seems silly not to weld a few braces on, just need to know where!CheersMike!
Richard B
A couple of bits of 1'' x 1/4'' bar; fit between the diff mount flange and the nearest sub frame flange. Sorry I have not go a photo to hand. I've tried to sketch it in below. The bars go in one on each side of the quill shaft tube up to the edge of the diff mount flange. on the lower two faces. It's to stop flex on the tube. I asked CW. whether 4 would be better he thought there could be some problem with distorting the unit when welding 4 bars on. Access would be difficult to the bolts. sallyann
Ive got 4 straps on my PI no problem with access to bolts..just make sure the straps are a tight fit proir to welding ,i filed mine down to fit EXACTLY then had them proffessionally welded with an industrial welder for superoir penetration...ive seen some awlful jobs with diy welders...next to useless..also keep the nose piece bolted to an old diff to prevent distortion....mines been on about 10 years now with lots of hard use and im confident it wont break!.
