chicken drumstick Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 The clutch master cylinder has started (and when empty finished lol ) leaking...How much of a pain is it to buy the repair kit and fit the new seals? A new master cylinder doesn't seem to be that pricey. I've not done one of these before, if it's a real pita to replace the seals I'd rather save the hassle and swap on a new unit. But on the flip side, it does seem silly to throw money away if it's not needed.Thanks. :)
Beans Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 It's been a while since I rebuilt a clutch master, but it should be rather straightforward.Even with the cost of honing the bore (to remove some light pitting) it still was much cheaper than a new one.But do check the bore carefully otherwise you'll be doing it all over again in the near future.
