Pete PiEst
Hi All,I'm fed up with my slightly leaky sump gasket. As the great design doesn't allow removal with all the bits in place is it easier to drop the front suspension or lift the engine just enough to give clearance?Cheers,Pete
AlanChatterton
Drop the suspension...... you only need about 5 inches to do it.Engine lift will be complex as you would need to remove the gearbox first.Undo the bottom ball joints (leave stuts, hubs, brakes etc in place) then undo the 8 bolts holding the crossmember to the car (don't forget steering coupling) and it will all drop enough for you to get the sump off.
