Freebird Posted August 29, 2006 Share Posted August 29, 2006 Hi everyoneThe overdrive on my Vit sticks in the first time I use it on each journey from cold. After switching it out, it stays in and comes out by itself after a mile or so with a lurch. The next time I engage it it behaves normally, going in and out when I say so. I'm guessing it's the solenoid sticking in. If so how do I fix it? If not, what else might be causing it?CheersGlen. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

mowerman Posted September 1, 2006 Share Posted September 1, 2006 I`ve found the best thing is to go back to basics, when was your o/d last serviced? Drain and refill with new oil, clean filter, check all electrical connections etc, consult your workshop manual for full details. All these will help with o/d operation.
