1200od Posted July 8, 2010 Share Posted July 8, 2010 :o Having put an overdrive box in my herald only to find no 2nd gear(another thread); I wired it up to check if the o/d was actually working before sorting out 2nd gear synchro. Result;- smooth in and out of o/d in 3rd.,...BUT nothing happening when switching to o/d in 4th. :(Anyone else had this,& anyone have the solution.Many thanks for any replies. Nick Jones Posted July 8, 2010 Share Posted July 8, 2010 Almost certainly a problem with the position of the inhibitor switch. It's making contact in 3rd gear position (probably only just) but not in 4th. Check that the arm that presses on the switch is straight and adjust the switch a bit closer to it.Nick Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I loosened the o/d on/off switch bracket and was able to push it closer to the activating arm ;retightened, and job done.
