Stuart Wilson
I've posted this question in the technical section and had no reply so thought i'd try here.Is the starter motor on a TR7 the same as one on a sprint engine?
Beans
Contrary to the Dolly 1850 (which uses two), the Sprint starter uses three mounting bolts (same number as TR7)Don't know if the location of the solenoid assembly is the same. But it all depends what you want to use wereI have opted for a modern compact unit for both my cars ...Much lighter and hopefully more reliable
Stuart Wilson
I'm looking at using a TR7 one on the sprint. Reason being the sprint one is playing up every now and again, the one I have on the 7 is fine. So thought about swapping them over for the RBRR. I'll investigate this weekend. Beans
Does your Sprint have a 5 speed 'box or the original Sprint 'box

Beans
In that case you already have a TR7 strater fitted (or the Sprint starter is the same).
