  1. My entry for Ellis and I in the 2500 Estate will be in the post this morning. Cheers Charlie
  2. Many thanks Jon to you and all your team for the hard work involved in making the event happen, the venue, food and scatter rally was great and we did not miss the Herrringbone! Personally I have no problem with other non-Triumphs if you struggling to make the numbers work - what ever it takes to keep these events going is good. We had a great day (despite the torrential rain and no roof on the Zombie!) - just need to look a bit harder for those extra bonus picture clues! Can you post a final list of the results ? Many thanks again Charlie

  4. Hi Piero - apologies in the delay in getting pic posted of my seats (same as yours non-perforated vinyl) in my mk3 spit. Straight forward fit using later seat runners. only issue is you need to recline them a tad when putting hood up/down.
  5. I have a set of these fitted to my Mk3 Spitfire - never seen another set! It took me years to find a drivers side frame to match the passenger side I originally had. I think I am right in saying these high back seats were only fitted to the American spec GT6+ (GT6 Mk2) so they are rare as the proverbial rocking horse bi-product, in this country at least. I would not be surprised if they go for really good money.
  6. I recently fitted a set of new carpets from Coverdale to my '78 Estate. Not the easy afternoon job it is on the Spitfire! Overall very impressed with the quality of the carpets from Coverdale - just take your time and work out the best order to fit them (especially in the rear load area) before you commit with the spray adhesive. Very good customer service from Coverdale who will send you lots of samples in varying degrees of quality of the carpet ( i went for the cheapest which are very good)  and different colour combinations. Nicely bound edges where appropriate. They do take 2-3 weeks to arrive but worth the wait. You might find a little cheaper elsewhere but would they be as good?
  7. Can someone post a list of the confirmed entries and the reserve list? Many thanks
  8. Just a thought - would it be worthwhile approaching one of the petrol companies for some kind of overall sponsorship (with stickers on all the cars) that could be given to the charity - The incentive for the petrol company being if all the drivers just used one brand of petrol it could significantly add to their fuel sales over the RBRR weekend plus it would be a really nice bit of PR for the petrol company. Quite an easy way to raise some extra cash for the charity.
  9. As a relative latecomer to the 10CR (2011&2013) I have really enjoyed both events and really appreciated the effort and planning that goes into organising them. I found the 2009 an excellent introduction to long distance driving events which gave me a taster for what the RBRR was about before I went on the 2012 RBRR. For me the reason for being of the 10CR is to complete the 10 countries, I don't want a driving holiday, I like the challenge of completing the 10 Countries, the mix of great driving roads, the stunning scenary and even the 3 hour "carpark" stop on the first night all add to the overall experience. Plus when you add to this is the evening/social element in my view it a format that works incredibly well and does need any drastic changes. The only things I would change (which have been mentioned before in this thread) are to keep it to Thurs-Mon (the extra day puts extra burden on holiday allowances/finance) and to try and avoid having the event during the first week the schools go back - the following week would be better. Good luck to you Mike! :)
  10. There will be a full page article (with 7 pics) in the next issue of Top Marques (on sale Tuesday 23rd Oct) in their "Classic Marques" section/news pages. There is even a small picture of Dale's Herald (sporting a Club Triumph windscreen sun strip) on the front cover...
  11. Many thanks Reg, Tim and Graham some really nice pics there - any that don't make it into the Top Marques Magazine I am sure I will find a home for them in the next issue of Club Torque. Once a gain thanks for taking the time and effort to send them over to me - it will be a good bit of PR for the club. cheers Charlie
  12. There will be a page article in the national 'Top Marques' glossy car mag in their 'Classic Marqes' section news pages in the next issue on sale in 2 weeks time. If anyone could email me direct (charlie.deards@autotrader.co.uk) any good quality (and reasonably high res) pictures that would be a great help. I have some pictures I took but the quality of some of them are pretty poor. Pictures that I need are: 1. Most important - The start (the ones I took are not really good) 2. Any dynamic action shots of cars on the road 3. Any of the Top Marques liveried car (Ellis' blue Mk1 2500 saloon) Top Marques made a good donation to our Charity and the page in the magazine will be good PR for the club so if anyone can help it would be really appreciated. Cheers Charlie
