  1. Lost a thrust washer from sun gear. I must admit the reassembly is the bit that does concern me. Reading about backlash etc..

  5. Hi, Having broken my Differential during 10 CR i am now under pressure to get repaired in the next 7 days as it's looking like my back up car will be required. I have the diff off the car and  i cannot seem to remove the carrier bearings from the casing. Any tips for any stage greatly appreciated as i am in way over my head. I will update as i progress. Thanks James
  6. Hi Chris, Yes we do.    A Few differences - I have o/d - he does not. Mine has Differential on the workbench current - he does not. He has a leaking engine front plate - I do not. But we both have cars that are NOT ready for next weekend at this point

  8. Hi, So i can change the vehicle registration, but what it appears to have done is change my personal details implying i own the car rather than saying we are using a car owned by Paul (hope that makes sense). Chris, For the C2C we intend to use KBT121S (Paul's car) our phone numbers and car description remains the same. James
  9. Thanks Guys, Sorry been busy with work. Paul's car is registered on the site, it is also a pageant blue spitfire 1500 just with a different registration and snagging list to mine. I will give it a go now. James
  10. Hi, How do i change the vehicle we are intending to use for the event? Currently the entry is my Spitfire but i wish to change this to using my co-driver's as he is 2 small MOT failures away from getting on the road. Thanks
  11. As a newbie to the 10CR and a 3 time RBRR entrant i was really pleased with the challenge of the 10CR. I felt there was a good balance of challenge posed by following the while roadbook (as we did) vs. Options to cut some corners and take a more lesuirely tour. I was a little worried before going on the event that the hotels chosen would not be the same as others on the event. This materialised the night before the start and again nr. Merano (where our hotel was shut when we arrived at 8pm and we ended up going wihout food and again in the morning when we left at 7am - then at 11am recieved a call saying we hadn't paid for our stay!). However the other nights we met people and had a very good time and it resulted in us convoying on the last day with the crew we met in Mulhouse on 2nd night. My suggestion therefore would be perhaps more organisation between crews stating where people i tend to stay. This can be done on the forum between crews and would put no extra pressure on the organising commitee.

Paul and I got cracking on the jobs list for the spring/summer yesterday, prioritised for HCR, MOT and 10CR.
  15. Hi, It'll be my Spitfire 1500. Jobs to do: Fuel Pump Rear Spring New Steering wheel Sound deadening boards Other comfort bits Plus whatever I find in next few months Shakedown to include: HCR A few trips to Swindon from Northampton Maybe a few afternoons in the Cotswolds Possibly Le Mans See you all in September
  16. Has a previous owner fitted an incorrect fuel pump?
  17. Hi, Sitting on my mantle piece is the HCR trophy. Upon recieving this last year i was told that i'd need to hand it back in time for presentation evening. However i am unable to attend that night. So, shall i keep hold of it until the start of this years HCR and get my name engraved on it in the meantime or try and pass it on to someone to hopefully be passed it back again at the end of this years event?  ;D
  18. Replace halfshafts and rear brakes. Remove temporary plumbing and repair inlet manifold. Convince Wife to let me go a third time. (It was her birthday on Monday and I was good for nothing, no different to any other day) Probably find a new co-driver, don't think previous one will be willing to go a third time (although he wants to take his 500bhp volvo 740 up to do the Skiach to JOG loop). Might be tempeted to take a break from RBRR and try 10CR instead. Who am I kidding might just expand to do the 10CR aswell!
  19. Tebay not a sucess for me. My mate turned miserable as he realised where we were stopping. He had experienced food poisoning from there once before and that meant we had to wait an hour until the control opened then drive on and waste more time so he could eat a burger king. Personally i like tebay, but not if he is with me.
  20. Car 88 got home at 8. Thanks for another great event. Gutted to be a failure statistic but thanks to mike robinson for sorting us out with a master cylinder on friday night or we would have been out much sooner.
