  1. Hypoid 90 (Extreme Pressure)oil, up to the level of the Filler plug.
  2. I have a set of rear valence and rear 3/4 valences from Honeybourne. I have yet to paint and fit them, but they seem to be well made. Obviously I can't comment on how well they fit yet. The point about load spreading washers is good. I have alloy bumpers on my 13/60 and I am considering using rivet nuts to avoid cracking the fibreglass.
  3. I got an exchange 150Cd for my 13/60 from Canley Classics. Works a treat and no problems so far, and you know everything has been overhauled.
  4. Thanks, Ferny. At least I now know its not another problem.
  5. My 1971 reg 13/60 saloon has a strap type propshaft. Removing the gearbox to fit a new clutch, I found that the prop was an incredibly tight  fit between the gearbox flange and the diff flange. The workshop manual says "lever the prop flange and gearbox flange apart". Crowbar them apart would be more like it! Is this normal with this type of prop, or is there a problem? Any info would be welcome. Thanks, Dave.
  6. For appropriate cable try Vehicle Wiring Products,
  7. The rubber is fixed to a wide washer. Grip the washer with Stillsons or plumbing pliers and wind them out. No problem. Cheers, Dave.
  8. Hi Nick. G/box mountings and engine mountings are new (within 250 miles) so probably not them. As I can't feel any play in the propshaft, what next?
  9. I haven't. I removed the integral mounts and the seat belts are fixings are the usual Triumph ones. I agree that if you wanted to use the MGF integral mountings you would really have to beef up the seat mountings.
  10. Ps 13/60 ran fine but developed a thrum and vibration on overrun. No play in propshaft. Suspect possible problem with rear hub bearings. anybody any ideas?
  11. I have another set of MGF seats to fit to my Mk 2 Vitesse when I get round to rebuilding it. It's sitting in my garage on SORN at the moment. The 13/60 , as my main transport, lives outside but gets most attention to keep her running as our nearest supermarket is 4 ,miles away. Went 130 miles north to Ripon recently. The MGF seats are very comfortable.
  12. Yes, if you need to get someone in the back it's a problem. However, I'm 6 foot 4 and my wife is 6 foot! there is no problem, we can't fit any body behind us so our 13/60 saloon is strictly a 2 seater.
  13. How about on mk2 vitesses? I'm on my fourth. Daily driver is a !3/6. Vitesse is a project.
  14. Had a feeling that might be the reply. have owned heralds and vitesses years ago. Never met a strap type until now. (1971 reg 13/60 saloon). Always had sliding Spline type before.
  15. I have had the same problem with aftermarket steering wheels. a solution is to remove the horn pencil, break into the wiring and use an appropriate switch in or under th dash.
  16. I have MG TF seats in my 13/60. They are a tight fit but very comfortable, but forget about tilting seats or back seat passengers. The MG seat runners are far superior to the Triumph runners. Does anybody want a pair of 13/60 front seats in tan, with runners? free to good home. collect from Staffordshire.

  18. Fitting is easy. You can buy alternator fixing kit from Canley Classics for about £30 but Existing dynamo setup can be used with spacers and a bit of ingenuity. If alternator output  more than about 32 amps either heavier replacement or additional cable from alternator will be needed.
  19. Has anybody any opinion on which is better?  The strap type prop shaft or sliding joint prop shaft for 1360 Herald.
