  6. Hi Shaun Yes a chrome GT6 would be different! I have been trying to persuade Su to leave the car bare metal with simply a coat of laquer over it as it would save me the hassle of painting it! But she is not having a bar of it. Cheers Bruce

  8. Grit blasting of the engine bulkhead yesterday.

  14. Hi All Been busy welding over bodyshell over the past 7 weeks. I am nearing the end of it with just a few small repairs to sort out on one of the rear wheel arches. Work done:- 2 x new outer sills 2 x new front closure plates for the outer sills 2 x new rear wing front lower section repair panels 1 x new nearside floorpan 1 x new nearside inner sill 1 x new middle sill (reinforcing plate) numerous repair patches to wheel arches and radius link bracket mounts etc Most of the paint has also been removed. I briefly placed the body back on the chassis today so as to drill up through the new floorpan and tack weld on the inner crossmember. Anybody fancy a Deloreon style GT6? Bruce
  15. Hi Des I fitted one of Paddocks uprated clutches to our stag a couple of years ago. I don't remember the bearing being rattly though! Suggest you contact Graham or John at Paddocks and request a replacement. Regards Bruce

I decided to fiddle with mine today which resulted in a sheared off restrictor bolt that holds on the heater valve assembly. or is there a trick to getting these out? seems like they would nearly always fail when you try to remove them. cheers Hi I had this problem recently. Insert a normal bolt then weld it to the remains of the banjo. Then unscrew the whole lot. Ta da Regards Bruce
  18. Hi All Can any of you advise what is involved in fitting a straight 6 cyl 2 litre engine and associated gearbox into a 1959 Herald? I profess to know very little about Heralds. I have the option on the car but would prefer a bigger engine. Thanks Bruce
  19. So the springs don't require compressing?
  20. Hi All. Can any of you give advice on how to go about removing the rear tailgate spring and hinge mechanism  on a Mark 3 GT6? I need them out of the way to attend to some rust.  Thanks Bruce
