Hi,
the wiper switch can cause problems if it's a cheap replacement that has worn out. I have problems with the end-float the cheaper switches will not tolerate.
I have had to disconnect the low-speed and swap with the high-speed brush to bypass my park switch.
A good quality park switch is sold by Mini Sport UK. About £17 delivered.

The biggest problem I have with the park switch is:
How do you fit it without breaking it? What is the forgotten method?
Iain.
Hi,
The graph should explain why you should drive the lights from the Alternator/Generator output. When the engine is not running, potential Luminous flux will be less than before.

Hi,
Suggest you first stop rainwater getting into your fuel tank as E10 does not "pull" water from the air.
Second, repair the damage the water has caused.
Third, add Ethanol to your fuel tank to enable any water in the tank to be removed.
You could add "Dry Fuel", but ethanol or E10 is cheaper.
Does that make sense to you?
Cheers,
Iain.
Hi,
Ethanol or E5/E10/E85 does not "suck" water out of the air. It's a myth that will not go away.
Ethanol fortified fuel will enable water that has got into fuel to be safely "burnt" in the fuel & not separate out causing corrosion.
Cheers,
Iain.
Hi,
With a 2.5EFI, I have had many 3.63 diffs go gender neutral poof.
Even 3.27 is not numerically low enough for me. Going to fit taller tyres on back to lower RMP cruise speed.
If I want to move quick I switch off OD or change down. Over 70 in 3rd is available.
1st is plenty numerically high enough to smoke tyres with ATB diff & 215's.
Hi,
Glang, advocating dipping the clutch is wrong on a Spitfire or GT6. If I followed your advice I doubt I would still be using an O/D. Sorry.
O/D on a GT6 is not so good as O/D 3rd = 4th.
GL5 for manual transmission is preferred.
I prefer O/D selection on gearstick for faster changes. Additional on steering wheel sounds a bonus.
Cheers,
Iain
PS. Good to see site speed is back.
