  1. If I really wanted to run a spares list I don't see how the organisers of a run would be able to stop me, after all we are members of Club Triumph not a totalitarian state. AndyF
  2. perhaps what participants need to do in the future is to look through the entry list and find similar cars to their own. Contact these owners and make a spares list specific to the the car they will be driving. It would be little bit hard on the early TR and Renown drivers but to be honest and although I participated in the spares list there was very rarely a part I could use that I was not carrying myself. Organizing it this way would be more efficient and no one person would have to try and encourage 90 odd teams to hand in a list of spares. Remember the 10CR is not an all in, organized run with a sweeper van and trained mechanics following but a challenge to the entrant, their team and their car to get round and back safely. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. AndyF
  3. brilliant but I think at 2:43 on the first day you took a wrong turn 😉 AndyF
  4. Tax free TR7s, what oh what is the world coming to? AndyF
  5. I don't want to be a boar and as you know you cannot make a silk purse out of a sow's ear but have you thought about having it fixed in the Czech Republic? I know lots of Germans have their TRs done there and are pleased with the quality and price. If you want I can make enquiries. AndyF 🙂
  6. were they wild before or after you had hit them? AndyF P.S. sorry to here about the car Martin.
  7. If you need music you have the wrong exhaust or one of those tin box thingies Not wise to drink and drive Rainx does not work on small screens so only suitable for TR7s and those tin box thingies Eating too much can make you tired and lethargic. AndyF
  8. Me too Mike, Me too. If you think that email was aggressive wait until I write one that I class as aggressive    😉 Oh and if you are to quote me please do it correctly. AndyF
  9. CAN WE STOP THIS NOW PLEASE! I think it has gone too far. Pleas refrain from publishing the map and other things associated to the route. Thanks AndyF
  10. kin74, to get a feel for the 10CR you could look under the "Events" tab at the top of the page. It will give you some of the history and there is also a gallery of photos from previous runs. AndyF
  11. you could always do what Ken Richardson did in the Alpine Rally and use a modified Gosport tube. AndyF
  12. I think the more understated British approach would perhaps be better 🙂
  13. The road book timings are worked out using complicated mathematical formulas, which have been tested and retested to make them stable. The formulas used in 2007, 2009 and 2011 were refined for 2013 and it was found when driving a well sorted car (apart from small problems with the alternator and fan belt) and 2 experienced drivers, the timings were spot on. This does include stopping for fuel. food and bodily functions and minor repairs. In fact the team was usually 5 to 10 minutes early at each way point. I presume under the same conditions (excluding the alternator and fan belt)  the 2015 road book will be as accurate. 😉 AndyF
  14. upps sorry Andy, I was looking at the route I had prepared for myself and not the official road book. If you follow the suggested route in the road book you WILL require a Slovenian vignette. sorry for the confusion 🙂 AndyF
  15. take a look at this link for Slovenia. http://www.slovenia.info/en/faq/Vignette-Toll-Stickers.htm?faq=199&lng=2 and this one for Czech Republic http://www.tolltickets.com/country/czech/vignette.aspx?lang=en-GB in both cases if you are not using the motorway or express way you do not require a vignette. The route in the road book does not use motorways either of the countries. At your own risk 🙂 🙂 🙂 AndyF
  16. upps sorry, I did not look at who was in the team I just ran a query looking for teams with blank telephone numbers. AndyF
  17. Hi, Just putting a contact list together and noticed we do not have mobile numbers for the following teams. 30 40 45 52 59 85 It would be helpful for emergency communications during the run if we had these. Please send me your mobile numbers via PM or email. Anyone else who might have changed your number since sending in the entry form please also send me your new numbers Thanks AndyF
  18. just heard the second reservist has pulled out so there is certainly 1 slot free and perhaps when and if others drop out more. AndyF
  19. The last 2 reserve teams have now moved up to the entrant list, which leaves the reserve list empty. Experience tells us that a few teams will have to drop out before the event therefore there is still a realistic chance of getting a place in the 2015 10CR. Dig out that application form and send it off. Cheers Andy
  20. Tuesday 8th  -- The Lupton  â€“ Northampton Wednesday 9th  -- Abdij Rolduc Friday 11th – Hotel Villa Argentina – Cortina For Saturday 12th we are booked into – Hotel Rasthaus Seligweiler – Ulm but we might do the all nighter so would cancel at short notice and take the passenger seat in a TR6 instead. AndyF
  21. basically you have to ensure the input shaft of the gearbox is running faster than the output shaft of the overdrive. That means do it as Alec says. If on overrun i.e. using engine braking use the clutch. AndyF
  22. I hope everyone is getting the emails I send out as I am still getting 2 error reports saying the email address does not exist. As I am sending the email BCC I cannot see which email addresses these might be. If you HAVE NOT received the updates please contact me via the forum. This will become more important as we get closer to the start. Thanks AndyF
