  1. Likewise! Look forward to see you and Darren too!
  2. I am sorry for the one who had to pull out of the Border Raiders but thrilled that we got our place! So Buttercup, together with Caitriona and Paul, will be joining you lot! ๐Ÿ™‚
  3. We are in! Looking forward to this after doing the RBRR!
  4. Here is where I fitted our Huco pump on a Spitfire 1500
  5. Took these photos early in the morning on a straight and flat road (rare in North Wales) and happy with my original lights on my Spitfire, I can see where I am going! ๐Ÿ˜€
  6. ๐Ÿ˜‚ glad you did! Donโ€™t think I was up to the job, was very happy following Glyn and Andy till that moment, thankfully they missed the gate!
  7. Well, we have requested an entry as well! So fingers crossed we will be there again too! ๐Ÿ™‚
  8. Well Tim, being a 'Newby' to the RBRR I did read the notes and thank you for those, they made me spend even more money! ๐Ÿ˜ No seriously, if people don't read them it's their loss and could possibly have prevented some of the entries from retiring. There were some cars with bright lights, there is no denying that, the only time it really affected me was when going down the A483 where we were closely following each other, for reasons I am not sure about ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ. Did it ruin my RBRR? Definitely not, I dipped and adjusted my external mirrors. Like you said, let's focus on the positives of the event! We have raised over ยฃ71k now!! With regard to the Yellow Night Time glasses, I can confirm they do take some of the glare away, I didn't have them on me during the RBRR but bought some for my mum years ago when she complained about the same issue.
  9. I posted what I thought were my stats a couple of times in the WhatsApp group but then I would find another receipt and MPG changed again ๐Ÿ™ƒ I think finally I have the right numbers:
  10. Taken both manifolds off and replacing the gasket to exhaust, having some welding done to the exhaust manifold to address an issue from PO which at that time was done by a Triumph garage! Inlet manifold now all clean and ready to paint cooling pipes. Should have exhaust manifold back hopefully tomorrow.
  11. Yes we were, it's a fantastic photo indeed! We love it!!
  12. Thanks Andy, missed that group during the RBRR! Look forward to getting approved!
  13. Hi Jennifer, thank you for taking photos! Really appreciate that!! Where on FB can they be found? Thanks Paul
  14. Great Blog Post Andy! It was a pleasure meeting you both and thanks you for your advice regarding our blown manifold/exhaust gasket! It was also a great pleasure to follow Glyn down the Welsh roads until the 'close call' happened which put us as 'lead car', which is something I was not ready or able to do, so as soon as it was possible we let all the other fast cars pass! ๐Ÿ™‚ Hope to see you at a future event! Paul & Caitriona, aka the Lost Dutchman Team
  15. It was apart from the Scotland leg! But hardtop would not have helped either, water was entering through the bulkhead when we hit several 'lakes'! ๐Ÿ™‚ Had the top down on Sunday once we got to Land's End.
  16. First and foremost to Tim, Nigel, Andy, Dave & Jason as well as the numerous Marshalls for making this an unforgettable event, a huge THANK YOU! Secondly to all the people we have met along the way! You are an amazing bunch of people! We are proud to be members of this club and look forward to attending many more events! We have learned a lot over the 48 hours, one is that on the next one, we will be more prepared with the navigation and not be sent in the wrong direction by our TomTom Go app causing us to have to skip a control! ๐Ÿ˜ž The upside was we got to see some Dartmoor Ponies! :-). Buttercup behaved impeccably, only blowing her manifold to exhaust gasket, not bad for a 46 year old car which has been asleep for 39 years! She was well able to keep up with her bigger cousins, the GT6's who we were lucky enough to follow on the A483 through the Welsh countryside in the early hours of the morning! Thanks Glen & Andy! Once again, many thanks!! We can't wait for the 2025 to come around! Team Lost Dutchman aka Paul & Caitriona
  17. We saw you in the fast lane and so disappointed for you and that we weren't able to assist.
  18. I have just completed the setup on my iPhone using the TomTom-Go app and just wanted to share my experience, for me the advice I found online by 'simply' clicking the GPX files in Files folder did not work, it just opened the RAW data files and I could not 'Share' it with the TomTom Go app as it was not available in the share options. So I found out that there is https://mydrive.tomtom.com which will allow you to upload the GPX files from your computer and then sync it with any devices using the same account. Once you have uploaded the files you need to 'Finish' them and there you can select 'Sync to all Devices'.
  19. Let me clarify our reasons for having satnav files downloaded which were carefully created by Howard, for which we are very grateful! Firstly, we are planning the route, just like we used to plan our holiday routes through Europe in the 1980โ€™s. Routes carefully planned only for your brother to drive down a road the opposite direction costing you several hours of your 12 hours planned journey! ๐Ÿ˜‚ As Tim suggested, map the roadbook to your AA atlas, itโ€™s good to familiarise yourself and we are doing that too, it brings back memories. Secondly, being a 2 person team one will be sleeping or at least resting so having satnav will greatly reduce stress on the driver. Thirdly, during the โ€˜awakeโ€™ hours we will be using the roadbook and our Rally Tripmeter as itโ€™s a nice way to drive the route. So in conclusion, we will use all the tools at our disposal and I am quite sure our experience will be non the worse for it. My assistant helping me map the route!
  20. Thanks for that bit of info! Was contemplating getting a satnav just for this!! It even has a 7 day free trial!! ๐Ÿ˜Š
  21. Soft-top it is!! ๐Ÿ˜€ thanks for sharing your experiences! Final checks done, all rubber cooling hoses replaced with silicone hoses! See you all Thursday/Friday!!
  22. Hello Seasoned RBRR's, First-timer here! So looking at the week ahead we still haven't decided whether to put the hardtop on or go with the soft-top? I guess both have their pros and cons and will ultimately depend on the weather which was the right choice. Going by the weather app it's not looking too bad and temperatures are not getting very low. I would like to hear from those members who have done either or even both what their preference is and why. Thanks Paul
  23. With the speed at which the petition is going (no pun intended), his end might indeed be near!! 326k in 3 days! Hope the momentum keeps going! https://petitions.senedd.wales/petitions/245548
