Paul318UK
Hi All,Does anyone know the official standard spring rate and free length? It will help me keep the correct ride hieght whilst looking at alternative stiffnesses,Paul
CharlieB
Looks like 180LB 12.35"http://www.teglerizer.com/triumphstuff/springs.htmHe's actually got the part no wrong, it should be TKC1884 but the fitted length & rate are right so hopefully the free length is right. Paul318UK
Thanks for that,Interestingly it is the same rate as the Reliant Scimitar, although that spring has a free length of 14".I want to go about 20% - 25% stiffer depending on how the free lengths available work out.Paul
CharlieB
Depending on what shocks you have, 2.5" ID coilover springs may fit, available in almost any length/rate combination from motorsport suppliers.Mine are 350lb.
Paul318UK
Doing a quick calculation, a 350lb 10" spring would keep a similar ride height. Are yours 10" or have you got adjustable seats? Whats the ride like? Is it combined with lower profile tyres?Idealy I would want a 250lb 11" units with my std 13x155 tyres on 5 1/2" rims.Any idea where I can find 11" springs? All the listings I find are 8,10.12,14.
CharlieB
Mine are lowered with adjustable seats & 175/70x13 tyres.Demon Tweeks do 10.5" x 300lb which would keep a similar ride height but I would recommend lowering (along with a block for the rear) to improve the handling.
