ferny Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 The possibility of having to convert a Herald from drum to disk brakes has got me curious. How do you go about it? What options are there? Can you go for something more modern and possibly better? What costs are involved? What options open up if you go to 14" wheels?
Clive Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 easiest is to get the complete uprights/discs/calipers from a later spit/herald, ideally type 14 calipers (easier/cheaper to get bits for, more common too). Better, if you really need it, would be vitesse/gt6 stuff. Thats pretty good!14 inch wheel may allow funky uprated stuff, but really std type 14 stuff is good, especially if refurbished!
rhys Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 I have a triumph herald with disc brakes but am in the process of fitting wilwoods at the moment if you are really interested in fitting disc to the front and you are prepared to collect from the wirral or pay the postage on them you can have the original calipers and discs. let us know rhys
