Martins Stag
Just been working on the Stag today and I had to take the radiator grill off the front of the car. I know when I put it on last time one of the u shaped bracket had broken off and this time when taking it of I noticed that one more had broken off. So now I am down to two. Rather that buying a new grill I was wondering if I could remove the two remaining brackets and then turn up 4 spacers to replace them. But it there a better way of doing this?Hope this makes sense?Martin
StagNL
You'd need some new screws with wider heads would you not?I got around the problem by getting the brackets welded back on. As I am not proficient enough in aluminium welding I got someone else to do it.Julian
Martins Stag
JulianI had thought of getting new brackets welded on but it is finding a proficient welder is half the challenge. I did use your suggestion of screws but with a washer to make the head of the screw bigger. It doesn't look like the best of designs in the first place!Martin
Richard B
James got someone with a Tig to repair my two broken brackets. There is one person at the Hants CT meet who can do Tig if you want. You have to repaint the black on the grill though.

Martins Stag
Just as a bit of an update I cheated I just cut of the remaining two brackets and used self tappers to hold it in place. It now sits back an inch closer to the engine but it looks ok. I'll have a better look when I get it out of the garage.Martin
