Jasonp
Hi, I’ve decided to try and hunt down, and hopefully buy back, my first ever car... It is a green mk3 spitfire, NRH 775F I wondered if anyone knows of its whereabouts?? I appreciate it’s a long shot but I’m not sure where to start. Thanks for your time 👍
Nick Jones
Untaxed since April 1993. Might be stuck in a garage/barn somewhere…… (my GT6 was off the road from 1991 to 2019)…… but I wouldn’t get your hopes up too much. Also, the last logbook change was 1994, I think that’s probably when I sold it.
RobPearce
If it was untaxed for a year prior to you selling it, I suspect the person you sold it to broke it for spares, even if they promised they would lovingly restore it. At that time there were a lot of breakers pretending to be enthusiasts to obtain "parts donor" cars that a real enthusiast could have saved but which they could turn a quick profit on by breaking them. My first Dolomite met that fate, sadly.

I was 20 and just selling an old car, never thought much more of it because I was more interested in my next car at the time 😕 There’s loads of my cars I wish I’d kept in hindsight, I’d need a pretty big yard though... Might have been exported. How rough was it when you sold it? Nick
Jasonp
Not rough at all really. Arches were rusting a bit. I had limited knowledge at the time but don’t think there was anything seriously wrong, I was just “ready for a hot hatch..” 🤦♂️
