If you're going to be doing the head anyway it's as good a time as any to have some inserts fitted and go unleaded. The only tihng that wears out when you put unleaded fule in a leaded head are the valve seats and that's what you're repacing when you fit inserts - so, if you want to, you could just put unleaded in the tank and enjoy your car until it shows signs of valve seat wear, then go for the unleaded engineering solution - it's your call, how much do you worry and how much do you want to spend :-)
