blueH Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 I have to fit New Tyres to my 1200 Herald when my resto is complete I have standard wheels with 145/13 tyres currently on the car, am really fancying some white walls and have located a company who can supply but only in the size 155/13, was wondering whether this slightly bigger size would cause a problem when driving or cornering.Any info would be appreciated or perhaps somebody knows a source of white walls in 145/13 size.Norm
lordleonusa Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 One of the few suppliers of really good whitewalls is here in the USA, called Diamondback I believe?Whatever you do, don't waste money on the crappy fake whitewall trims that fit over your regular tyres, marketed in various classic car comics under the Bravado brand, they are rubbish and fly off almost instantly. They have been sold for many years in craptical plastics, and are nothing more than a con, but I suspect the sellers are making a good wack out of them.L
heraldcoupe Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Anything above 145 profile will be liable to flexing walls on the standard 3.5" rims. If you have 4.5" rims, standard equipment on most Estates and Vitesses, and an option for all later Heralds, then 155s will be fine. Cheers,Bill.
