Philip Blank
for those of you out there with tuned 2500s, a comment combined with a question. i've recently been at a track event where there were a number of tuned PIs and TCs (some hugely powerful). the general concensus on timing was static timing of around 7 degs, but with the important thing being a total advance at max of 27 to 28 degrees, not the 31/32 a lot of people set their cars to. i'm running a PI dizzy with new springs (courtesy the very helpful dizzy doctor, martin jay) so the equipment is ok. the assembled multitude of trump nutters at this race meet claimed more torque would come out of such timing. sounds reasonable to me so i'm going to try it on my car when i get a chance, but wondered what others might think. Greeks
C'mon AJP where are you?Phil,Have a look for the thread that AJP put up on this, he got into a bit of research on the dizzy spring side of things for tuned 2.5s, and reckoned he had it all sussed ... 'cept I can't remember the outcome.
Philip Blank
thanks very much, i'll do that. i recall discussion about the various dizzies and cams, but not about the actual degrees of advance. i'll see what i can find.
