2500 Stiffler
Does anyone have a carb balancer and timing light that I could borrow/hire so that I can set up the beast and prevent the need to rent a spot on my local Esso forecourt?

Lord Sorbington
Set the timing statically in the first instance, it's easy enough to do. This month's Practical Classics explains how to do this on a 2000, with pictures! As for setting the carbs, again, you can do this yourself. I find that the best indication of tune is the state of the spark plugs. Black and sooty = too rich. If you run on choke a lot, be sure to give the car good twenty mile blast or so to clear it all out before you start to tinker.Do you have a manual for the car? I found the info in the Haynes more than adequate for setting the carbs.
2500 Stiffler
Practical Classics is on subscription, just hasn't arrived (annoyingly - it's in the shops).I haven't delved into the manual fully, but will.Cheers
