Tahiti6 Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Hello, I'm looking for a new carb balancer for su carbs does anyone use a synchrometer? Does it work ok and fit... I would prefer this type.Does anyone use vacum gauges? And balance off the emission connections?CheersDoug
andytr6 Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 I have Carb balancer (Holts) and it works OK, but I'm not sure its any better than listening with a bit of tube. However, for the money its piece of mind...
Tahiti6 Posted August 31, 2012 Author Posted August 31, 2012 Tried the tube with a small funnel at the ear end... Worked well. Cheers Doug.
stagnant Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 DougI use a synchrometer, can be had for about 40 on Ebay - works extremely well with SUs.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Carburettor-Synchrometer-For-Weber-SU-Dellorto-Solex-/170893858598?pt=UK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item27ca115726
cnicholson Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 I bought one of the synchrometers recently and have nothing but praise for it, if you have a PI it is a must own piece of equipment, I am considering buying 2 more so can get all three banks close to perfection
Encom Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 You can try a micromanometer, like a Testo pocket series.I use a Airflow Developments PVM100 from work,, and hold the tube the same depth and place on each carb. Last time I had 23Pa in each.A low range Dwyer Magnehelic gauge can also be used.
