Straight Six
The hole for the clevis pin on my Vitesse's clutch pedal has elongated. Rather than go to the bother of welding the hole up and re-drilling it I wondered if I could fit an old brake pedal I've got lying around as the hole in this is still vaguely circular. I know the brake pedal has a small metal plate welded to it to allow the brake light switch to operate, but apart from this are there any differences between the pedals? Thanks
heraldcoupe
Just be careful which car the replacement pedal was sourced from. Early Heralds have straight pedals, the offset to the right was introduced with the Mk2 chassis, to move the pedals away from the wider transmission tunnel. A cranked clutch pedal next to a straight brake isn't going to work very well,Cheers,Bill.
mikeyb
ah that explains something that has been puzzling me - a Herald I sat in had pedals roughly straight ahead, mine are cranked to the right which is a pain behind the roll cage vertical section!
