Davemate
1) Are any brackets required when changing from dynamo ?2) are wireing mods the same as when doing the conversion on a herald 1200, in the control box joining wires together and I don't suppose the wires are the same colour as in the herald loom are they. If not what goes with what ?3) what alternator do I require ?If brackets are required and anyone has said brackets and they are going to the drivers meeting Sunday or an alternator ;)
DJB_Harvey
You need different brackets , the wiring colours should be the same as other models . I'm going Sunday and could sort alternator / brackets etc if interested . .. Dave .
Richard B
Brackets same as Spitfire 1500, 2000/2.5 MkII.Don't fit too big an alterantor without additional wiring changes. All the power generated goes through the charge gauge on the dash. 17ACR should be fine. fitting an 18ACR or 55amp or 70 amp modern unit could result in a little fire..... :'(
