Paudman
The top bracket-bolt aperture is threaded on all my dynamos but not one takes a standard UNF or metric threaded bolt; not that I can find anyway. It’s the one that goes through the sliding belt adjuster that connects to the water pump housing. It’s a coarse thread and I can’t find any kind of match that won’t wring the threads - are these screws / bolts available from suppliers? Paudman
I’ve just found that Canleys have it listed as a UNC setscrew... so why on earth will none of mine fit? Brand new dynamo, never fitted to anything else….. grrr. Where’s the angry emoticon?

nang
Drill it out and use a standard bolt spring washer and nut.Tony.
piman
Hello Tony, that's a retrograde step surely? Yes, it will work but then needs two spanners rather than one, 5/16" UNC screws are readily available.Alec
nang
Hi Alec,I've do this a couple of times as the thread had been stripped and it was the easy way out. >:(Tony.

Paudman
I’ll order a couple from Canleys, as I hate drilling things out….. one to use, and one to lose…!
