alan pettit
I have a mk4 spitfire 1300 engine which ive bought rebuilt with triumphtune fast road cam and some head work .it dosent have a distributor. Should i hunt for a mk4 Delco Type or would a lucas one do the job? What actually need to be done to the distributor to take up the benifit of the faster cam etcWould be grateful for any advice before i hunt for something I might not actually need...ThanksAlan
thescrapman
AlanIt is probably best to find a Lucas one as the rolling roads will probably be more able to chenge springs in them rather than Delco dissysCheersColin
neilnaz
Beware of the Tachometer drive difference. A delco for the MkIV will have cable tacho drive and substituting for a Lucas (from a 1500) would mean losing the cable tacho drive so you would need to change your tacho to one suited to be electrically driven.......
