Paudman
Hi folks! I'm rewiring a 1970 Herald 13/60 ignition having lost the ignition key but am stumped by two pink and white wires at the ignition switch. I have the usual two pairs of white wires, one red / white and one blue / brown as in all my Heralds but also have two pink and whites to the right of the photo which do not feature in my wiring diagram. The previous owner had them connected to two different terminals, thankfully I never tried to start the car...Anyone know what they're for and which terminal they go to? None of my other Heralds have them. Pink and white in the Spitfire is for the optional radio fitting, but these are both spade terminals by the ignition and there doesn't appear to be another end anywhere visible. If I connect them to the optional radio terminal where should the other end reappear for radio connection?
marktheherald
My w/shop manual shows an optional connection to terminal 4 of the ign. switch for a radio supply connection, but no colour code given. (This is the factory w/shop book) This gives a total of seven wires, 4x white, 1xbrown/blue, 1xwhite/red and 1x?.
Paudman
I've gone ahead and connected them to the radio terminal on the ignition to get the dash fitted. Looks good - getting near completion now.If anyone knows where the other end of the two wires is, can they let me know??Colin
