Matt306 Posted May 20, 2021 Share Posted May 20, 2021 Some time ago I fitted a gasket to my exhaust manifold to head as there was a leak.... the leak is back. One of the previous owners has fitted Helicoils to the head where the manifold bolts on to so i get some good torque on the manifold. One of the down pipe studs is broken off but thats not where the leak is. Any reason why the gasket should blow so soon? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
glang Posted May 25, 2021 Share Posted May 25, 2021 This has happened on my Vitesse more than once and Ive now cured it by retightening the fixings regularly. I know its a different engine with cast iron head but the same could apply to yours however when you replace the gasket I would also check the flatness of both surfaces...
