JLR
It may be just me but the factory steering wheel on my Herald 13/60 makes me feel as though I'm driving a bus. Is there is a recommended minimum smaller diameter? With thanks as always.
Rosbif
There are several wheels with a smaller diameter that you can fit. The standard warning that people add about doing it is that the smaller the wheel the greater the effort to turn it at low speed.
Steve AKA vitessesteve
Also fitting wider tyres than standard will make it harder work. I have a Spitfire rack on my Vitesse which makes the steering quicker but even heavier. If you want to use your car in town and be able to park it easily you may want to stick with a normal wheel. However if most on your driving is out of town a smaller wheel may not be such an issue.
glang
A Herald due to less engine weight should be able to get away with a smaller steering wheel although I suppose thats compensated for by the different rack ratio. Certainly for my Vitesse I wouldnt go less than 14"...
