Russell
Calling all weber/dellorto'd cars and owners. What carb to manifold gaskets do you use? Nylex plates with loose rubber O-rings, or Misab bonded O-ring plates?I'm using the Nylex plates with thackeray washers for the DCOE40s on my Spit, and when I turn the car off, I get the excess petrol dripping from between the carb and the manifold, onto the chassis - right next to the exhaust! I've replaced the plates and washers, but it's still happening. Now I also assume that when running it's sucking air in through this gap too.Am I being too impatient about getting the tension on the washers right? I don't think the rings have moved as I held them in with a small blob of grease when fitting the carbs. Is there some extra sealant I can use? Would I be better swapping to Misab plates with the rubber spacers?Any advice would be much appreciated.thanks,Russell.

lordleonusa
I use Misab one piece, Thackeray Washers at the bottom of the carbs, rubber doughnut things and cup washers at the top.Are you using a fuel regulator? You may have too much pressure?I use a Malpassi Regulator. RegardsLéon
Russell
Hi Léon, No, I don't have regulator yet, I bought one last week but haven't got round to fitting it yet. The new Misab gaskets are on order, so I sense a bit of re-plumbing at the weekend.Russell.
