BriComp
I have just bought a 13/60 and I am trying to understand as much as I can about it. I am perplexed with the engine number which is RD1226ESS. I have looked it up and RD is supposed to be a FWD 1300. But it's in a RWD Herald. How might it have been modified to achieve this?
Wendy Dawes
It’s pretty much the same engine, as 13/60 signifies 1300cc and 60hp hence the 13/60, most small chassis triumph engines can be easily fitted into other small triumphs so it’s nothing too unusual to find this, as lots of these older cars are made up of bits of others, - we call them bitsas - as in bits of this and bits of that, just enjoy your car Hope this helps 😊
mikeyb
Same block and pretty much same internals. Easy conversion using the flywheel, sump, front and rear engine plates from a Herald
