Martin M Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Hi,I have a caliper spacing kit (vented disc conversion with capri discs for a GT6), however I´m seeking for the torque for the Bolts holding the caliper together. There is no figure mentioned in my workshop manual.Any suggestions?RegardsMartin
drofgum Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Martin,The original bolts that held the caliper halves together are reputedly a torque-to-yield application. That is they were tightened until they permanently stretched. This is why most manuals discourage separating the caliper halves. The best suggestion I can make is to search for the maximum torque that the size and grade fastener you are using is normally tightened to and use that as a guide. A web search might even turn up some information on torquing to yield. Best of luck, Paul
