El Tel
Hi,I have a Herald 13/60 and along the front edge of the bonnet is a piece of chrome trim. Can this trim be removed without causing damage and, if so, what is the best way to do it.Thank you
ferny
Remove the two end pieces carefully (rocking horse poo) and then it should pull off. Expect a lot of dirt and rust if it's been used a lot.
Jonny-Jimbo
The two little end pieces should be held in with a small screw underneath, but the main long trim is just pushed on with clips - it will take some persuasion to come off though - either use a proper trim lever or a flat screwdriver with masking tape wrapped round it to help protect the paint / trim. El Tel
Thanks for your replies. I shall try to remove - but very carefully
pimp my vit
Use a old credit card to protect the paint and gently prise it up with a small pry bar...Thirty years of removing trim in car interiors!!
El Tel
Great idea. I'll try that.
