Paul Jones
Hi There I'm trying to install new covers for my back seats in my Herald 13/60. The bottom back seat came out ok, but I can't remove the top back seat. It seems to be attached at the bottom part of this seat. I had a look in the Boot and I noticed that there were 2 bolts (which had 2 nuts per bolt), and it was located in the same area that the seat was being held. However, as there 2 nuts on each bolt. I was thinking this bolt must be connnected to the suspension or chassis, because it looked for secure. If I took these nuts off, would that release the back (top) seat or should it come out by moving this seat around? Look forward to hearing from you and thank you for your hep and support. RobPearce
The seat base just lifts out (indeed I've just taken my Vitesse's rear seat base out) but the seat back is bolted in with two bolts (at the bottom, I think), at least on a saloon. Convertibles have rivets and "acme screws". The bolts are accessible from inside the boot and are, as I recall, fairly obvious. Unfortunately it's 30 years since I owned a saloon.
