RBRR Control Marshals needed at Carter Bar

Recommended Posts

The Club needs Marshals to help at out the Carter Bar Passage Control Stop. These Marshals should preferably be CT members, but this is not critical.

The Control will be open from 23.58 and shut at 00.58hrs on the Friday night.

Marshals will have a number of duties to perform:
A) Put up CT Banners and establish the location that the Signing In Marshals will use.
B) Open the Passage Control at the designated time.
C) Sign and state the time of the signature in Entrants Road Books. Entrants will then proceed on their way to Edinburgh Airport. This needs to be done quickly to prevent traffic build up.
D) Close the Control at the designated time. take down CT Banners etc.
E) The Chief Control Marshal will have called through with the listing of retirees, therefore the Marshals will be asked to call the CCM to let him know about any crews that have not passed through the Control, so he can inform the Marshals at the next Control. Text messages can be used for this task.

Marshals will be supplied with CT vinyl banners, CT hi vis waistcoats, Entrant checklist and a copy each of the Road Book.

This all sounds quite onerous, it is not. There is some responsibility, but all very simple once one is in  the swing of things. It affords one the chance to get involved in this great event and hopefully see what the fuss is all about. Many who Marshal will take part in the next RBRR.

Please talk to me, Tim Bancroft if you are interested in helping out on either 07966 289 782 or timbancroft61@hotmail.com

It goes without saying that without Control Marshals the event cannot be run, so if you can help out, please let me know.
