Cylinder head compatability

If it's a Mk2 block then yes it will fit - the stud sizes are different on the Mk1. Will it run though, that's the question :-) Are the head and block standard ie nothing done to either?
I'm hopeless at applying logic to these things but I think the heads are all the same combustion chamber volume as the extra 500 cc in the 2500 engine is all in the stroke (as opposed to the bore) so combustion chamber in the head is un-altered and your compression ration should be OK - the only head you need to worry about is the TR250/TR6 type low compression US spec, useful only for forced induction really :-)
