Reg Barton
I know the event isn't specifically a charity fundraiser, but the early notes did say that entrants were welcome to raise money for a charity of their choice, should they so desire. And so we selected the local Cobalt Appeal fund, looking to raise the final £1m to build a new cancer treatment centre in Cheltenham, serving Gloucestershire and Herefordshire.Well, we've not managed to collect £1m for them ...... but we are looking now at something like £2,500 - which for one team felt like a pretty good result! At some point on the 10CR, we'll be all wearing our very nice bright pink T-shirts that the charity gave us - so we should stand out..... and hence the name of Team Pink..!! :)

DaveKent
A great idea if you want to do it as a charity fundraiser, but in these hard times, where you are pestered on every corner in every high street for money by the charity brigade, it all becomes very tiresome. And surely charity is voluntary donation system, so when some bright spark suggested that unless each team raised a minimum amounrt on the RBRR they wouldn;t be allowed to enter..... well you can imagine how some of us felt!
