Josh
Hey yall, Ive just got back from the states where ive been for three months to a poorley herald. Before i left i ended up stranded at the side of the road after my diff ran dry and the shaft coming in from the prop fused itself together. Ive changed the diff today for one that came with the car as a mysterious spare? :-/ anywhoo, after changing it i still haver terrible diff whine and itts almonst unbearable, but i does work :-/ does anyone have a spare diff that they know is okay i could buy or any suggestions as to why the diff whine could be so bad!? Encom
Solve it forever by fitting a R160 diff.

Encom
Very true :) Mind you the Datsun R160 diffs I've used are almost as old (circa 71 - 74) as the cars they are going in. But still not a period mod by any stretch. Still firmly under the list of cardinal sins.
