pollystag
Could the overdrive be made to operate on 2nd 3rd and 4th as in the early tr's? If so why isnt it done ?Steve.
iggy
my A type overdrive works on all forward gears from when I bought it, but if by mistake you leave it in overdrive and try to reverse it wont move, I think theres to much torque in first and second gear that could damage the overdrive unit, but I didn't know the early trs had overdrive on 2nd 3rd and 4th
Richard B
Yes you can, and yes it breaks them (if used too enthusiasticly). ;)I think that the reason it was only fitted to 'early' Tr's

Overdrive and reverse is very expensive.CheersColin
iggy
ok colin its been like it for years before I bought it, I m surprised I didn't break it the first day I bought it I did give it some stick in reverse with the overdrive on trying to reverse at a petrol station, overdrive in 2nd gear does come in handy some times though.
