Martins Stag
I am just about to go LED lights and I need to replace my side and hazard flasher units. I have found the side flasher unit but the location of the Hazard unit is not obvious. Does anyone know of the top of their head where it is? Thanks Martin
Dannyb
Not sure about the Stag but the 1500 Spit has the one flasher unit that does both.
Guppy916
Martin I used this guy for ALL my bulbs in my MK3 GT6 https://www.classiccarleds.co.uk Give him a ring (Duncan) he will answer all your questions, my lights are blinking great, only the ing light in the dash is the old type, he will sort the flasher relays as well
Martins Stag
George That is who I have used. The challenge is I needed to find the existing Hazard flasher unit. On investigation this afternoon it appears that it is behind the shelf below the glove box. On the off chance I just changed the turn flasher unit and then changes out the indicator bulbs and the hazards worked on the old flasher unit. So all sorted Martin
Guppy916
My flasher unit is tucked up behind the brake servo along side of the battery box, a right pain to get to, along with the horn relay , my car is a mk3 GT6
Howard
The location of both flashers is shown on the drawing in the Rimmers web site:- https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-GRID005358 You will need either electronic flashers on both hazard & indicator circuits or to fit a 6.8 Ohm 50W resistor in parallel with each LED bulb. (If you have a problem obtaining them, I purchased mine from Rapid Electronics for £12.37 for 4 including postage two years ago.) DJT
Mk2 Stag indicator flasher unit is behind the dashboard. Sometimes clipped to the lower steering column shroud. The hazard unit is on the relay panel behind the parcel shelf.

Howard
Martin Glad to be of assistance. I prepared a completely new wiring diagram for my '81 7 and have been digging through the complexities & shortcomings of Triumph wiring diagrams to find out exactly how the circuits work. In the process I have been trawling the obscure parts of the Internet for data on items (Pektrons & intermittent wiper delay relays to mention two) and consequently have discovered where to look for information.
