Raider
??) I would have thought Canley Classics would be a good place to start - if they can build a 22 foot long stretched Herald I am sure they can offer some advice and sell you a propshaft that will fit. :)
Johanne
You could also get the propshaft shortened (and balanced) by a firm in your area which does balancing.
rotten herald
Been told the prop from a 2000,with manual will do, and should be ready balanced
Greeks
Seems surprising to me. Surely the 2000 would be too long still? It's worth talking to CC, they certainly sell o/d conversion kits. Good luck anyway, it sounds like fun!
Jason
Click here http://www.canleyclassics.com/infodatabase.asp?topic=propshafts for Canley's propshaft page - all lengths catered for! You can have a prop of any length with any combo of fittings - all are about £100 to £150 but that's balanced with new UJs etc.
Greeks
Oh, excellent ... now i can shorten my GT6 ... i always thought the corporate cut-off was a bit too conservative. I mean who needs the luggage rack and spare wheel anyway :P A real Smart car!
Jason
The prop on the Stretch was the single most expensive item in the whole build - we had a little rattle from the gearbox end but the general concensus was that was the gearbox bearing not the prop. To change the Stretch prop, you'd need to remove the body 8)Short GT6 - that would be fun - you wouldn't really need a prop though!
