sparky_spit
The heater fan motor in a Mk3 Spitfire is a single speed Smiths FHM 4432/01. Mine is burnt out, so much so that having it rewound looks unlikely. So the search is on for a replacement and, while I'm at it, an upgrade with a bit more power and possibly twin speed if possible. I know Mike Charlton upgraded his with an air-con motor from a Mustang, it being a similar size, and I'm either looking for something similar or just a generic DC brushed motor from one of the electrical/electronic suppliers. My question is; has anyone got or know where I can find the spec of the original Smiths motor? This will give me a rough clue as to what speed, power, current draw, etc to look for. I've googled it with no success; can anyone help?PS - I looked at a 1500 one and it will not fit in the Mk3 heater box, so that easy option is out unfortunately.
