mikeyb
are we talking Mk1 or Mk2?CheersMike!
sahtuning2000
MK1,i think what i have missing is the wiring from under the washer bottle to the relay, all wiring from the relay, and the column switch plus the wiring from that?
sahtuning2000
Just as a thought, has anyone else fitted an A type O/D but used a different way of making it worki.e not involving so much wiring and the VERY hard to find column switch,i really don,t want to fit the J type gearlever, but the car had this fitted, surely there is a beter way to do it??If not i,il stick to the original set-up
mikeyb
the column switch is just that - a simple switch. Any switch mounted anywhere within reach in the car will do the job. For example MGBs have a simple toggle switch mounted on the dash. Colin's Moss has a toggle switch and warning light mounted on the tunnel between gearlever and handbrake. I'm sure a Spitfire/Vitesse column switch could be made to fit. Depends on how much originality you wish to stick to!

Tim Bancroft
You could fit a works type overdrive gearknob with toogle switch within it.http://www.bighealey.co.uk/section.php?id=7&page=
