lordleonusa
Fair question.I have compiled a list of weight saving between original parts and modern alloy parts fitted to my Vitesse, and because I never owned an original Lucas dynamo - which I know is fairly heavy, and with it's brackets and associated control box, I cannot compare the weight with that of my Bosch Alternator and it's alloy mounting bracket. It is one of the few items missing from my list. With such information, I can work out things like initial cost verses weight saving...So far, I get about 31 GBP/lb of saved weight.I am missing several other weight figures, if anyone has any figures or could check please? A Pair of Vitesse Mk.2 front brake calipers, type 16, with pads?An original Vitesse Mk.2 cast iron exhaust manifold?A pair of original Vitesse MK.2 lever arm shock absorbers? An original Vitesse Mk.2 road wheel.I will be happy to share all my information when I have a bit more.Best RegardsLéon

Most helpfulI already have the front and rear engine plate weights, but thanks.Front was 3lb, 13.5 ozRear was 11lbI wonder how much my 'mike-the-pipe' 631 mild steel exhaust manifold weighs?Of course it is fitted, which makes it somewhat hard to weigh at the mement , but I doubt it is very heavy!Any offers?Best Regards and thanks and TIA16P calipers anyone? ;)Léon
mk2vitesses
Just weighed my Gareth Thomas designed 631 manifold, comes in at 4.5kg, 9.9lbs.Should be quite similar to a 'mike-the-pipe' one.Steve
Does anybody make one to the original spec in stainless? lordleonusa
My 'Mike-The-Pipe' manifold is exactly the same design as the GT manifold. Not sure if Mike is still around. He was having heart problems about 10 years ago, poor fellow.RegardsLéon
mk2vitesses
Thanks SpitBang,I have read the post and I would be up for a proper 6-3-1 stainless manifold, perhaps a straw pole could be had, to see how many people would cough up?I have a TC manifold on my car with SU's, PI manifolds have been modified to take Bosch injectors ready to fit.
